CCLXXXII: Baffled

© Lani Kai
Trypto: one on hand, it's kind of interesting and different
Trypto: but on the other, it renders the right half of the image meaningless
Trypto: wait a minute
Trypto: how does that work?
Trypto: the houses on the hillside are in focus
Trypto: I am confused
Lani Kai: I used a tilt-shift lens for this photo
Lani Kai: the focal plane is normally parallel to the imaging plane
Lani Kai: but when the lens is tilted, the focal plane tilts with it
Lani Kai: essentially, the focal plane in this image is at an angle to the imaging plane
Lani Kai: so you have focus down that plane, all the way back to the hills
