CCXXVI: "It's Not Pining, It's Passed On!"

Trypto: the water from the fountain almost makes it look like it's raining
Lani Kai: yeah
Trypto: and she's standing outside under an eave, pining for her lost lover
Trypto: naked, for some reason..
Lani Kai: a lot of people from the classic period are naked for some reason...
Trypto: they didn't invent clothes yet

CCXXV: Enlightenment

Trypto: why can't they extend that road up the side of the cliff, and onto Angels Landing?
Trypto: it would save the 4 hour hike
Lani Kai: because you're not supposed to attain enlightenment without first struggling hardships
Trypto: is enlightenment a bunch of chipmunks?
Trypto: because that's all I found up there
Lani Kai: then obviously you haven't reached enlightenment yet
Trypto: and besides, the TV at Foster's [Motel] had crappy reception
Trypto: that was a hardship
Trypto: I want my enlightenment dammit

CCXXIV: The Cathedral

Trypto: this is my second favorite rock
Lani Kai: I think this looks much more like a cathedral than the rock at Arches looks like a courthouse
Trypto: the Spanish explorers at Bryce Canyon were better informed about architecture

Trypto: why's it purple?
Lani Kai: white balance that's deliberately shifted in the wrong direction
Trypto: I guess you were curious what the world looked like through the eyes of someone with purple cellophane permanently wrapped around his head

CCXXI: Éphémère

Trypto: do you think it's sad that all the beautiful spires and cliffs and things will eventually turn into piles of sand?
Lani Kai: that's part of nature
Lani Kai: just because it's beautiful right now doesn't necessarily mean it should stay in its current state forever
Trypto: I suppose
Trypto: I still think entropy sucks though
Lani Kai: without entropy these never would have formed in the first place

Lani Kai: this one I actually liked better as black and white
Trypto: naw, I like the warmth of the color

Lani Kai: so I'm pretty sure it managed to pick up a crumb from the angry British lady that was poking at it with her walking stick
Trypto: she must have had a bad experience with chipmunks as a child
Lani Kai: the husband didn't seem too fond of it either
Trypto: a chipmunk ate their kids

CCXVII: A Lack of Color

Trypto: as in, that's ok, but mine is a million times better

Lani Kai: as you might recall, this is the picture that "had to be black and white"
Trypto: and indeed it is
Trypto: it must have heard you
Lani Kai: in color it's quite bland

CCXV: The Courthouse

Lani Kai: I think it looks like a sperm whale
Trypto: yes, I thought that too
Trypto: dunno why it's called the "Courthouse"
Trypto: I had two photos of this--one with a humongous shadow in the foreground, and one with a humongous sky
Trypto: so I took the one with the big shadow, and digitally expanded the sky
Lani Kai: hence the file name?

Lani Kai: and that's because I had inventory until 11:30pm
Lani Kai: and then I came home and had food and fell asleep

CCXIII: Terrorist

Trypto: I wonder if you look weird, when you're leaning in with your giant camera, taking pictures of flowers
Lani Kai: well, if I'm leaning in really close I usually don't have a big lens attached
Trypto: even so, has anyone ever asked what you were doing?
Lani Kai: no
Lani Kai: although I've heard stories of people being labeled as terrorists, stalkers, perverts, paparazzi, and pedophiles
Trypto: terrorist is how a chinese person says tourist
Lani Kai: I think I look more like a tourist than a terrorist
Lani Kai: the only people that seem to think I'm a terrorist are the rent-a-cops at the mall

Lani Kai: no, just a parallel universe in which everyone spoke Olde English

Trypto: I was stung by a bee once, many moons ago
Lani Kai: so was I
Trypto: but my mom let all the flowers die that had been planted by the previous owners of our house, and so there were no more bees
Lani Kai: jeez, how many bees were the flowers attracting?
Trypto: letting the flowers die had nothing to do with the bees
